Tiffani Thiessen and her husband, artist and actor Brady Smith, are expecting their first baby next May, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

"We are over the moon!" the couple said in a statement. "It's something we've wanted for a long time and we are thrilled that it's actually happening."

Balancing motherhood with her new role on USA's drama White Collar will be a welcome adjustment for the star, best known for her work on Saved By the Bell and the original Beverly Hills 90210.

"I've never done it – it's going to be a whole new thing," she told PEOPLE in May when talking about the idea of becoming a mom.

Thiessen, 35, and Smith have been married since 2005.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is said to have acted like a "diva" on the set of Melrose Place.

The 25-year-old was recently confirmed to be leaving the CW series along with actor Colin Egglesfield and the pair will make their final appearances in a January episode.

It has been suggested that the actress, who played Violet Foster on the reboot, was asked to leave the show because she was "deeply disliked" by her co-stars, Fox News reports.

"Ashlee was kicked off Melrose Place because she was a total diva on set, late all the time, and deeply disliked by fellow cast members. It created a lot of discord among the cast [and] she could barely act," a source said.

The insider also claimed that the firings were brought about to bring back Heather Locklear and to allegedly meet her salary demands to reprise her Amanda Woodward character from the original Fox series.

"They basically trimmed the fat and made it possible for Heather to join the show. Heather is a much bigger name than Ashlee," the source added.

Jessica Simpson recently claimed that Melrose Place was "crap" following the announcement of her sister's exit from the show.

Kristen Stewart: Taylor Lautner Grew Up During New Moon

Taylor Lautner's transformation from human to wolf wasn't the most impressive change that came over him for New Moon, according to Kristen Stewart – even more astounding was the way the 17-year-old went from skinny teen to hunky sex symbol for his role.

Her song "Single Ladies" is an Internet hit among dancing babies and now, Beyoncé's working on a tot of her own.

That's according to get this Jay-Z, B's notoriously tight-lipped hubby, who spilled the baby beans himself.

While chatting up Gotham mag editor in chief Cristina Greeven Cuomo, the rapper let it slip that procreating is high on the duo's priority list right now.

That's big news from hip hop's sneakiest couple, who wed secretly on a Tribeca rooftop and rarely even wear their own wedding rings in public.

It's also a change in attitude for Beyoncé, who admitted on "The View" in April that while she was interested in motherhood, she was in no hurry to hit the birthing room after seeing the process upclose when her sister Solange did it.

"I definitely want one, but I'm not ready for all of that," she said then. "I don't think a person should see that before her time. It was a little much. But I'm so in love with my nephew, and every time I see him I'm like, God, he's just amazing."

But the kid-friendly 28-year-old, who's made more than 40 Make-A-Wish Foundation fulfillments, is ready to summon her inner Sasha Fierce and go for it.

And all that, um, practice must be lighting a fire for the couple, married since April 2008. Backstage Thursday at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Berlin, where both got awards, the husky rapper held his beaming wife in a big bear hug, When she got up to the podium, Beyoncé said, "There is only one person I want to thank, and that is Jay for putting a ring on it." And did she ever thank him with a big red lipstick smack on the neck for all to see as the two left a nearby nightclub in the wee morning hours.

All this action must be doing wonders for Brooklyn-born Jay-Z's already healthy self-esteem.

"I don't dislike anything about myself," he told Gotham. "I know this sounds a little arrogant, but I really accept what God has given me. I've got a short temper, but I work on controlling it. I can say inappropriate things because I believe them to be true and sometimes that can be hurtful to others. But I think in the long run it is more helpful."

24 Hour Plays!

Somehow, Ashton Kutcher was able to stand up in front of a roomful people and say that his special skill is being a “gifted model,” and not sound obnoxious. It got a big laugh, in fact. He added “I have been good looking for years,” and guess what? More laughter. Good looking and charming, sheesh, some guys … but wait, we’re getting ahead of ourselves.cut for the tl;dr crowd )

Oh, and for those who cannot stand the suspense, here is a very unofficial list of titles and casts. It is probably safest to assume any number of things could be subject to change, but the show tonight ought to look something like this (but not necessarily in this order):

“Second Opinion,” by Tina Howe, directed by Lynne Meadow, starring Liev Schreiber, Fisher Stevens, Diane Neal and Leslie Bibb.

The Untitled Pen play (and that is not necessarily the title, thus no quotation marks), by Theresa Rebeck, directed by Peter Ellenstein, starring Demi Moore, Jeremy Sisto, Gaby Hoffman and Julia Stiles.

“Daily Bread,” by Warren Leight, directed by Lucie Tiberghien, starring Billy Crudup, Rachel Dratch, Claudie Blakley. Emmy Rossum and Rosie Perez.

“Furry Little Angels,” by Nathan Louis Jackson, directed by Josie Rourke, starring Ashton Kutcher, Michael Ealy, Tracie Thoms, Eva Mendes and Rosario Dawson.

Coolio to replace DMX at MMA fight

DMX has been replaced by rapper Coolio after organizers behind a celebrity-boxing match chose not to fix the bout so X could win.

The rapper signed up for the mixed martial arts bout sponsored by Thunderbird Promotions soon after being released from prison in May. He was scheduled to fight Power Moves Entertainment CEO Eric Martinez. But X's management reportedly had a few demands for Thunderbird. X's manager Nakia Walker wrote a letter to the company asking, "Event Promoter and Management agree that [DMX] is scheduled to win Boxing Challenge."

Thunderbird didn't quite agree and have filed a suit against X for breach of contract.

Coolio is scheduled to fight in Alabama next month. -Linda Hobbs

A Recap.

  • Nov. 9th, 2009 at 5:07 PM

I can hardly put my feelings about the past two weeks into words.

The release of my crazy little cookbook.

Launching it in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and our wonderful little small town.

Traveling with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law Missy to Denver, then Salt Lake City, then Phoenix.

Meeting so many of you. Learning your names. Seeing your faces. Hearing your voices. Taking photos together, exchanging conversation, locking eyes.

I’ve loved every minute of it.

I’m only a third of the way through my Book Trip of 2009 (I’ll be in Little Rock, Arkansas tonight) but am home for most of this week to regroup, recharge, renew, regenerate, homeschool, and pick my toenails. And wash my clothes. And not curl my hair. And bathe as infrequently as I can without driving out members of my family.

But before I go another day, I want to share face/scenes/peeks of this past week. I have hundreds of photos and will try to get some slideshows up in the next day or two.

DENVER

TPW_6124Hi, Sweetie!

TPW_6152There were Sweeties everywhere. My hormones are going crazy.

TPW_6146Missy took photos of everyone. And they threw it right back at her!

TPW_6135Lovely. She brought me ice cream.

TPW_6133I met so many nice people. They got lots of photos of my violent sweat rings.

Note to self: silk tops in warm basement bookstore rooms are never a good idea.

TPW_6177Notice how I’m keeping my right arm plastered down against my body?

It’s a sweat ring self protectionist thing.

TPW_6137Sweet, sweet people…

TPW_6130And it’s fun to watch friendships form among strangers.

SALT LAKE CITY

TPW_6248Then there was Salt Lake City.

TPW_6258Where this unfortunate incident occurred.

TPW_6269And where I met this beautiful girl, who timidly handed me a CD of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Where I melted right there on the spot.

TPW_6277Hey, look! A boy! Most of the time, if we see a boy at one of these things, they’re there for one of three reasons.

Here are the reasons, in order:

1) They were dragged there by their wife, girlfriend, or sister
2) They were sent there by their wife, girlfriend, or sister
3) They are there of their own accord.

TPW_6356Not sure whether this guy was #1 or #2…but he was sweet!

TPW_6376And this guy…he was #3! I felt like bronzing him. What a rare find.

TPW_6280Beautiful babies everywhere.

TPW_6285Oh, help. This is not the least bit nice.

I want one!

TPW_6282And beautiful Utah bloggers!

Utah bloggers? If you’re reading, please shout out your blogs in the Comments section. I can’t find the card you gave me! It’s a laundry thing.

TPW_6286There’s something in the water in Salt Lake City.

TPW_6287Everyone’s happy, fresh, and hip.

TPW_6289Single men? You need to flock to Salt Lake City.

TPW_6290And fast.

Disclaimer: Not all women you see in these photos are single, and not all of their husbands would probably approve of single men flocking in their direction in any way, shape, or form.

So basically, forget I said anything.

TPW_6293More babies!

TPW_6295And more bloggers! Here’s Alison (far right) and Carina (middle), to name a couple.

TPW_6299The King’s English, I must say, is a magical little bookstore. It’s a winding labyrinth of charming little rooms packed with books galore.

TPW_6322Love you, Salt Lake City!

And once I figure out what substance caused me to sneeze 9,787 times during my visit, I’ll be back!

PHOENIX

TPW_6420And then there was Phoenix, beautiful Phoenix!

TPW_6436They forgave me my puffy eyes brought on by the 9,787 sneezes in Salt Lake City.

TPW_6439Phoenix was so welcoming. And see that guy in the back with the facial hair and the kid on his shoulder?

I grew up with him.

He was one of Betsy’s best friends.

TPW_6446Everyone in Phoenix is happy, too. Something about…the lack of Seasonal Affective Disorder or something?

Something about sunshine year round?

Something about spas on every corner?

I’m just jealous.

TPW_6449It’s okay, little girl. My puffy eyes were pretty frightening. I understand.

TPW_6455I’ve got to start banning babies at my little cookbook signings. They’re seriously bad for my health.

TPW_6456Do not be afraid, Little One. It’s just allergies.

TPW_6483Sisters!

TPW_6467And a starlet stopped by. Cute!

TPW_6472

TPW_6492

TPW_6468I’m having so much fun. And I look forward to irritating bookstores all over this great land of ours by talking to every single person I meet.

I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I do talk too much. I will concede that. But I’ve lived out in the country on an isolated ranch for thirteen years, and I’m just so happy to be around other humans. It’ll take me awhile to run out of words.

OTHER REPORTS

And here are some accounts of the signings, as told by other bloggers:

Sweet Tooth Fairy
Georgie Tees
Get Up and Play
Newspaper Girl
Utah Loves Cupcakes
Jet Set Carina
Moosh in Indy
Miranda Walker
Petit Elefant
Jules Keeps the Rules
Two Peas and Their Pod

IN CLOSING

And I want to say one other thing, because it has as much to do with you as it does with me.

TPW_6507I learned over the weekend that The Pioneer Woman Cooks hit the #1 spot of the New York Times Bestseller List.

That this happened is crazy. Completely and utterly crazy.

But it’s not so crazy, too.

TPW_6247Not so crazy, because I’ve had you to support me through the years I’ve been blogging, writing, sharing recipes, my dogs, my freakiness, and my foibles. And you’ve encouraged me along the way, make no mistake about it. Without you, I’d still be writing Gary Coleman stories. And I would a have run out of them in June 2006.

Without you, I’d be…well, I’d still be living on the ranch. I’d still be homeschooling my children. And unfortunately, I’d probably still be dressing my Basset Hound in American Girl clothes.

But I’d miss having you in my life.

Not that I’d know I was missing you.

But still. You know what I mean.

None of the last few years would have been possible if you guys hadn’t been here with me. Thank you so much.

I love ya more’n my luggage. Always will.

You go, Coco, you got it gurl~

KAPRANOS WANTED TO DIE LIKE SID VICIOUS

  • Nov. 9th, 2009 at 9:41 AM
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

FRANZ FERDINAND frontman ALEX KAPRANOS is disappointed he didn't die "glamorously" at a young age - because he always wanted to emulate his idol SID VICIOUS.
The Take Me Out hitmaker wishes he could have passed away like the Sex Pistols rocker, who died of a drugs overdose aged 21 in 1979, while on bail accused of murdering his girlfriend Nancy Spungen.
But Kapranos, 37, hadn't even managed to secure a record deal at the milestone age.
He says, "I wanted to be like Buddy Holly or Sid Vicious or Rupert Brooke and have achieved everything I was going to do and done it all by the time I was 21 and then die glamorously. Unfortunately, it didn't happen like that."

Bill Murray was a hit as the voice of animated, comic-strip cat in Garfield, and now he's returning to animation as a badger in pal Wes Anderson's The Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Murray was OK with letting George Clooney take the lead role as the foxiest of the foxes. Murray, who is not easily impressed, was pretty much blown away by his co-star.
